About the Just In Time Fund

 

The Just In Time Fund provides limited emergency financial support to high school graduates who have participated in a Center for College Access and Success program (GEAR UP, 21st CCLC, Talent Search, Upward Bound Math & Science) and are enrolled in college but unable to meet essential expenses due to a temporary or unexpected hardship.

 

The Fund Will Be Used For The Following: 

  • Temporary food insecurity

  • Books and other essential academic expenses

  • Safety-related needs (i.e. changing a lock)

  • Replacement of essential personal belongings due to fire, theft or natural disaster

  • Expenses related to a death or illness in the immediate family

  • Outstanding debt to the University 

  • Tuition, fees, health insurance 

  • Travel to college campus

  • Other requests as determined by the Just In Time Committee

Awards are not considered loans and do not require repayment. Funds distributed can range from $100 - $1,000 and is a one-time award.

Please review the eligibility criteria before you apply.

 

  • Must be currently enrolled and attending college the semester in which the funds are being requested.

  • Must be degree-seeking  

  • Must be in good academic standing 

  • Must be able to demonstrate an urgent financial need (supporting documentation upon request)

You can make your tax-deductible donation online as follows:

 

1.  Visit NEIU Giving Donation Site

2.  Select Donation Amount

3.  Select Designation: "Other"

     Other Designation: "CCAS Just In Time             Fund"

4.  Complete form as prompted.
